The line chart illustares the numer of goods transported in UK from 1974 to 2002 Overall, the figure for road, water and pipeline witnessed an upward trend, while the rail recorded a little change over the period. Notably, the road represented the largest number of good, the opposite was true for pipeline. From 1974 to 1990, the number of water and pipeline made up roughly 40 and 7 millions tonnes before increasing to around 58 and 29 million tonnes respectively. In addition, the figure for road acounted for 70 million tonnes in 1974 and witnessed a increase wwith fluctuations, reaching 79 million tonnes in 1990.Finally, the number of rail goods showed a fluctuating upward trend, reaching under 40 million tonnes in 1990. In the next period, the number of road continued to rise significantly to approximately 95 million tonnes. The figre for water declined slightly in 1998 before growing to 65 million tonnes in 2002. Furthermore, the rail continued to grow at an uneven rate to reach 40, while the pipeline decreased and unchanged at 20 million tonnes in 2002.
