Nowadays, people have a longer lifespan than in the past. While some people argue that the elderly causes problems for governments others believe that having more senior citizens brings values to society. From my perspective, the advantages of this trend outweigh the drawbacks.

On the one hand, if the number of senior citizens increases, it will put a (financial) strain on the national budget. One issue is that there might be lack of money for the government to allocate for pension; therefore, the authority have to bring funds from other crucial areas to strengthen it, such as education and renewable energy . Another challenge is that if the elderly population keep keeps growing , it leads to labour shortages because older individuals are often less flexible and productive than the younger generation, thereby affecting the economic development. On the other hand, despite the drawbacks, I would argue that having more older people also brings several significant values to the community. Firstly, older generation owns wisdom accumulating through they passed, so they can give useful advice to the youth, helping them solve the problems easier more easily and effectively. For example, in some companies, older workers offer their valuable insight for to young newcomers. As the a result, more people can understand how to work effectively, thriving the productivity of company. Moreover, elderly people plays a crucial role in the family. For instance, retired grandparents often have more free time looking after children than young parents. As the a result, they can save family budget in childcare and the younger members can comfortably do household chores or cooking instead.

In conclusion, despite an aging population presents disadvantages, such as putting the national budget under pressure and hindering economic growth, it seems to me that the benefits, particularly providing practical knowledge to younger people and supporting family members, far elipse such drawback
