It is true that advancements in technology have provided law enforcement with powerful tools to monitor, prevent, and solve criminal activities more efficiently. However, a rising school of thought maintains that technological progress also enables criminals to develop more sophisticated methods to committing crimes. I do not totally agree with this sentiment and the reasons for this will be elaborated in this essay.

Admitted, Technology is a very effective tool for reducing crime rates because it makes it much harder for criminals to hide. Modern monitor cameras are now everywhere and many cameras have high quality image and facial recognition technology, it make police can identify and catch criminal easier. Moreover, the police now use advanced computer systems to track criminal activity. Because of these technology, criminals know that they have a much higher chance of caught, which help community become safer.However, it is also true that technology can make it easier for criminal to commit new types of crimes. The development of the internet has permitted people to commit cybercrimes, such as stealing money from bank accounts or identity theft. In addition, some criminals now use advanced technology, like drones to plan and commit acts without being detected. Therefore, while technology helps the police, it also create commit of crime new and more dangerous to break the law.

In conclusion, while technology provide powerful tools for crime prevention, it also creates new opportunity for criminal activity, so crimes rate will not decline. Instead, crime has simply shifted from traditional methods to digital forms.
