Nowadays, children have more and more freedom in their choices than they had in the past. I believe that this transformation could bring both positive and negative outcomes to the development of those young individuals.

On the one hand, because of more freedom in actions, they could learn to be more independent. When children have control of their lives, they can choose the subjects they love or the dream school they want to pursue. As a result, they have opportunities of learning how to make decisions and take responsibility at such young ages. When they are young, the result of poor choices may be not as serious as when they are adults. Because of this, they will be more likely to grow up and be more mature because of the improvement in desicion making.On the other hand, given freedom may result in lifelong impacts. Freedom can reduce the instruction and the support from adults, such as parents or teachers, and children's parts of brains that are responsible for desicion making have not fully developed yet. Therefore, this could result in wrong choices, which may later affect their lives in a negative way. For example, children nowadays can have access to the Internet more freely than in past, although this could help them develop their skills; young people could be harmed because of the exposure to harmful content online, such as pornography, drugs, and even gore contents. As a result, they can experience trauma or mental health problems required a long time for recovery.

In conclusion, I believe this development is both positive and negative because although it could help children practice desicion making at young ages, which could expose them to harmful contents online that may affect them for a long time.
