Essay

The table compares the proportion of residents living in four kinds of accommodation in the Central area, Green Park Area and Southberg Area. Overall, in the Central areal, detached houses predominated among the residents, and flats/apartments were the most common type of housing in the Green Park area, while terraced houses were prefered in the Southberg area. Flats/apartments accounted for 76% among the population of Green Park area, significantly higher than the Central area which was represented by 15% and 25% in the Southberg area. By contrast, the Southberg area made up the highest proportion for terraced houses, while the Central area and the Green Park area stood at 18% and 14% respectively. There was 28% of the population in the Central area living in semi-detached houses, whereas the proportion of two remaining areas were just 5%. In terms of detached houses, this type of housing also recorded the most popular choice with 39%, compared to merely 5% in Green park area and 14% in Southberg area.
