The table illustrates the number of people joining in the marathon competition in two age categories between 2008 and 2012. In general, it can be clearly seen that the total participants always have an upward tendency throughout the period. The majority of marathon runners who in 18-39 groups tend to participate in marathon than the 40+ groups. In 2008, the number of people participating in the marathon in the 18-39 groups was 1200, over 400 individuals higher than the 40+ category. Regarding the following year, the figures for young people who belong to the 18 to 39 age group rose rapidly to 1350, while the other category only increase by 50 people. In addition, Between 2019 and 2012, the number of participants aged 18–39 grew by an average of approximately 100–150 people per year. Whereas, the numer of marathon runners in the 40+ groups rose by only 50 individuls per year, except in 2012, when it increased 100 people. On the whole, the total participants both grew over the years. In 2008, the total number of marathon runners started at 2000 people, followed by it rose to 2200 in 2009 and 2400 in 2010. Furthermore, the total participants went up continuously to 2550 in 2011, and the largest increase was recorded in 2012 by 250 individuals.
