The pictures illustrate the salmon's life cycle over the past 10 years. Overall, it can be seen that the salmon’s life cycle includes three periods. It starts with egging at the upper river and ends when adult fish go back in the original freshwater habitat to breed. The process takes ten years and involves a mobile journey through three different aquatic environments, from the slow-moving to the open ocean to the original area. In the first period, salmon eggs are laid in the upper reaches of a river, where the amount of water flows slowly, and the environment has reeds and small stones to provide shelter and security. The eggs take five to six months to become a fry, which means the small fish that measures 3-8 cm. After this period, the fry swim the lower river, where the river flows fast, for approximately 4 years. Additionally, the fry continue to grow and evolve into a smolt, measured from 12-15 cm. Then, in the smolt period, the smolt still improves in the open sea, where smolts live for 5 years to evolve into an adult salmon. In the extended oceanic phase, smolts develop advanced, gainning the size at 70-76 cm, which ahead of the fry with 10 times. When they develop completely, the adult salmon carry out an opposite journey, going back up the upper river to breed, at the same time as the original period. Finally, they finish the cycle and ensure the continuation of the species for the next generations.
