The bar graph depicts how many overseas applicants from four distinct nations, namely China, Japan, the USA, and Russia, were sent to a country in Europe over a 5-year period from 2004 to 2008. Overall, there was an upward trajectory in the USA, Japan, and Russia, albeit to varying degrees, while the opposite was true for China. Additionally, despite dominating the data initially, the number of China’s applicants witnessed a sharp decline to fall behind the USA eventually. Another compelling point is that Russia had the most consistent momentum, which was nearly unchanged throughout. Looking first at the most fluctuating nations, approximately 28,000 and 13,000 applicants were recorded for China and the USA, respectively, in the first year, after which these numbers experienced a reverse pattern, converging rapidly and equalling around 17,000 over the next two years. The figure for China remained unchanged in 2007 prior to decreasing moderately at the end of the timeframe to hit its trough of just above 15,000. Meanwhile, the USA rocketed, rising significantly by around 10,000 to obtain the first rank in the last two years. As for other categories, the number of Japan’s applicants commenced at roughly 6,000 before climbing steadily to precisely 10,000 in 2008. Finally, Russia’s applicants were always the lowest and hovered around 3,000 throughout the period.
