Essay

The charts illustrates the proportion of Australian children in three different age groups which is distributed in four categories: watching TV, reading, art and riding the bike in 2012. Overall, watching TV was the most popular activity among all categories, while the opposite was true with art which recorded the smallest percentage. Looking at the highest figure in watching TV, children aged 12 to 16 years accounted nearly 100%, followed by the 9 to 11 and the 5 to 8, at 93% and 90%, respectively. Turning to riding the bike, which children aged 12 to 16 years old continuously recorded at 80% which took a lead in riding the bike. In addition, the 5 to 8 years old made up over 75% which higher than the 9 to 11 at 63%. On the lower side, the participants in reading witnessed a relative figure, as the 9 to 11 and the 12 to 16 recorded at nearly 75%, which is slightly higher than children aged 5 to 8 years old, around 62%. Regarding of the art, this category showed the smallest distribution, children in 5 to 8 years old group accounted 60%, followed by the 9 to 11 at over 50% and the participants aged 12 to 16 made up the smallest percentage.
