The bar chart illustrates data from 3 types of visitors to the museum from 1997 to 2012. Overall, the total number of visitors fluctuated considerably during the period. However, while adult visitors accounted for the vast majority, museum officials recorded an much lower number of visitors under 15 and especially special exhibition visitors. Regarding the total number of guests, there was a remarkable variation. Precisely, although it decreased marginally during the first and the last 5 years of the period, the total number of visitors reached its peak at 525,200 people in 2007. From 1997, the number of adult visitors slightly increased in the first half decade, before making a surge to 400,500 visitors in the next 5 years. However, despite maintaining its dominance in the museum's visitors demographic, adult guests declined to 380,000 from 2007 to 2012. On the other hand, tourists aged under 15 in the museum experienced a consistent downward trend. Specifically, commencing at 120,000 visitors in 1997, the number of young guests witnessed a fall to 82,300 in the next 15 years. Additionally, although the special exhibition visitors group increased moderately to 42,000 visitors in 2012, it is still the most unpopular group of customer in the museum.
