Recent years have witnessed many governments liking to direct the public coffers significantly on arts. While some people think it proves to be rational, others are of the opinion that governments should prioritise health and education sectors. Despite acknowledging the advantages of allocating money on arts offers, I would argue that investing money in improving education and health systems is more essential.

Admittedly, spending money on the arts can offer certain benefits. Firstly, art represents a key contributor to national identity by expressing traditional culture and belief of the whole nation, which have been passed down from one generation to the next. By directing resources to preserve this heritage, and bring it closer to citizens, especially the youth, the government can provide individuals with a deeper insight into their roots and ancestors. As a consequence, their citizens will gradually develop national pride, as well as patriotism. In tandem with promoting patriotism, directing the funding to preserve and enhance art forms can draw international tourism, thus driving the national economy. Vietnam is a stellar example for this argument, which possesses a wide range of invaluable exotic arts forms, ranging from painting, dramas to traditional dances. Thanks to this, Vietnam welcomes millions of international tourists annually, contributing significantly to both local and national economy.

On the other hande, I believe that investment on health and education is more essential. The primary reason is that these sectors can help a direct impact on citizens. Firstly, improving public healthcare systems can pave the way for longer expectancy and higher productivity. When individuals' health is cared for, they can ensure the quality of work without any disruption of health issues. This efficiency can go a long way towards enhancing individuals’ standards of living as well as the national economy. For instance, Japan is a country which focuses intensely on their citizens’s well-being, their citizens can maintain healthy and contribute to the country longer with high productivity. Secondly, investing money in education can offer benefits in both short term and longterm. By constructing more schools, more children can access formal education, which lays the foundation for a lucrative profession in the future.＋

In conclusion, while I agree that arts can bring about some benefits such as promoting patriotism and tourism, I would maintain that allocating money to the healthcare system and education is more beneficial because of the better human well-being and promising career opportunities in the future it offers.
