These diagrams illustrate the way nuclear power plants produce uranium, and the way it is obtained from earth. Overall, there are 6 stages to the process of the production of uranium, we begin by mining uranium, and it ends with the uranium pellets being recycled and re-used in the power plants, or they end up being stored away and buried permanently. The process starts with the extraction of the uranium ore from the earth, afterwards the ore is taken and converted to make U-235 fuel pellets, Subsequently the pellets are taken to nuclear power plants and they are used there to start and power the generators to produce electricity. About 4 years later, the fuel in the in the pellets will run out. From there onwards these pellets have two directions, if they can be recycled they will be re-processed and re-used in power plants to generate electricity. if not, the pellets will be stored in containers and they will be buried away permanently.
