There is a debate whether government should regulate the use of e-commerce platforms to protect their citizens from harmful programmes. ＋From my perspective, despite some certain benefits, I strongly disagree with this statement because there are also many benefit programmes from using social media platforms such as development in cognitive, educational or psychological, which considerably outweigh the disadvantages.

Admittedly, opponents may argue that freely accessing to social media without any prevent from government's regulation may lead to the addiction, social isolation and the citizens may learn negative behaviors from harmful content. Although these concern is valid to some certain situations, it is largely based on the misconception that social media networks themselves merely harmful. In reality, the argument overlooks the fact that the problems stem from the negative users who upload the harmful programmes on social media and the overusing among citizens. If government ban these users and tighten regulation with harmful contents and hours of using social media per day, e-commerce platforms, in contrast, provide normal users with several cognitive development and strengthen their academic skills. For example, the giant Tiktok, enables their users to gain more knowledge of cooking or analyzing puzzles by the trend "learning with Tiktok" and allows them to communicate with other users, which strengthens the interpersonal relationships. Consequently, the developmental far outweigh its drawbacks.

Another compelling reason why government should tighten their laws instead of prohibit the use of digital platforms is that e-commerce platforms not only bring their user with joy, but also improve their mental well-being. After a hard day of work and studies, people can use these platforms in order to release their stress and recharge their batteries, maintaining a long balance lifestyle. As a result, e-commerce platforms should not merely be viewed as a harmful just because of some harmful contents, instead of watching those clips, people can surpass them.＋

＋To reiterate, although social media platforms have certain drawbacks, their advantages from improving cognitive skills and strengthen relationships can far outweigh the drawbacks. As a result, the government should allow users continue to use digital platforms instead of trying to ban it due to certain harmful contents.
