Nowadays, many countries are facing rampant housing shortages, which leads to a serious host of societal issues. While there are thoughts that only the government undoubtedly holds responsibility, I firmly disagree with this notion and believe that many external bodies have all been in the frame to reduce this highly controversial problem.

Admittedly, the government is the supreme authority, who directly makes decisions in residential planning. They are able to implement large - scale public urban policies and allocate financial resources, which can redevelop derelict sites and provide social housing for the homeless. Given the significant changing positivity due to the affordable housing policies from local governments, there will be a progressive advancement in citizen’s daily lives, while they can ensure to work without a fear of social costs to a lack of housing. Particularly, in Singapore, the HDB - Housing Development Board is recognized as a successful system, helping most people to have houses and decreasing the rough sleepers, enhancing life quality. Therefore, the pivotal role of the administration and their led initiatives are witnessed as crucial social aspects.

On the other hand, it is also an imperative matter of both individuals and businesses, not only government duty. Because this is the need for shelter of housing - dweller and real estate agent in recent society. By supporting the accommodation strategies published by governments, people can assist to rapidly tackle the housing shortages and to not affect the resident life quality in the long - term. Additionally, many individuals and real estate corporations share their housing space to rent at reasonable prices, which helps many people to expand housing accessibility and simultaneously provide a revenue from this business activity for the real estate agents. These solutions play a role to show the important duty of the company relative to the alarming problem in many countries and help to strengthen social cohesion recently. For instance, every year, Vietnamese citizens participate in the land issues conference organized by The National Assembly to contribute their opinions and initiatives about housing facilities, in order to join hands to resolve underlying issues and safeguard social welfare.＋

In consequence, although the government is central to addressing housing shortages in cities, a collaborative effort between residents and housing corporations in supporting accommodation policies and facilitating homeownership will prevent social issues (homelessness). Thus, I disagree with the blame for governments duty with the lack of houses to public concerns.
