The graph illustrates one European country's household computer ownership from 1997 to 2011. Overall, two computers rose dramatically, and a similar pattern, but to a smaller extent, was seen in three or more computers. Meanwhile, owning one computer remained unchanged and not owning a computer witnessed a downward trend during a fourteen-year period. In general, the percentage of not owning a computer received the most prevalence between 1997 and 1999, which was accounted for approximately 47% of households until 1998. On the other hand, the proportion of not owning a computer was followed closely by the figure for owning one computer at nearly 45% and experienced a modest decrease to about 44.5% in 1998. However, by 1999, the proportion of owning a computer only became more popular and rose to 46% and held the largest share until 2011, while the figure for not owning a computer decreased by 27% from 1999 to 2011. A contrasting trend was seen in the percentage of two and three or more computers. In 1997,the ownership of two devices represented a mere 10% of households, and three or more computers stood at 0%. Over a fourteen-year period from 1997 to 1999, three or more computers continued to remain stable and finally recorded a marginal increase in 1999 at approximately 2%. Meanwhile, two computers soared significantly from nearly 12% to 28% between 1999 to 2011; furthermore, in 2010, the figures for not owning a computer and for two computers were identical, both standing at nearly 25%. By 2011, the proportion of two computers ranked second at 28%, outpacing three or more computers by a margin of 18%.
