＋It is argued that children should be educated at school to recycle materials and avoid waste, while others believe that they should be taught these habits at home. ＋This essay will discuss both views before presenting my own opinions.

On the one hand, there are several reasons why some people believe that it is nessesary for children to be taught to recycle material and avoid waste at school. One compelling reason is that schools are able to provide students with well-trained teachers and education programmes about environmental protection. In addition, schools will organize practical activities such as recycling campaigns and waste-sorting competitions, allowing students to have a full understanding of the importance of protecting the environment and the negative impacts of waste. Therefore, supporters claim that schools are an ideal place to raise children’s awareness of their responsibility toward protecting the environment.On the other hand, many people believe that these habits should be primarily taught at home since parents are a good role model for children to follow in terms of friendly-environmental behaviours. For instance, if parents recycle household waste, reduce the use of plastic bags and sorting waste, children will adopt these positive habits naturally. Consequently, although schools are effective places to teach children how to be more environmentally conscious, I still strongly believe that parents have a greater influence on shaping children’s long-term habits.

In conclusion, despite the fact that schools have more resources to educate children about environmental protection, I firmly believe that families are more effective in developing lifelong recycling habits because parents influence children’s daily habits through their own actions.
