Introduction

Granted, one might argue that a rise in petrol’s price is the most practical way to address traffic and pollution. This is because, high cost of petrol may lead to financial burdens for individuals, so they need to limit their use of vehicles. Therefore, the congestion and the pollution would be improved, due to reductions in transports and gases released into the air. However, I would argue that this solution just affects a small segment of residents, who cannot afford the high price of petrol for a long time. This can be attributed to the fact that there are many individuals who have priorities over petrol’s cost such as work. Thus, they continue to use transport to maintain their sustainable lives, rather than limit them to travel.+ As a result, the traffic and transport cannot be solved through an increase in petrol’s price. Moreover, I believe that there are two practical ways to reduce growing traffic and pollution. First, individuals should be encouraged to raise their awareness through education. This is because when people have full understanding about the consequences of traffic and pollution, they may adjust their behaviours in use of vehicles. Therefore, if all individuals are conscious, the traffic and pollution would be addressed. Additionally, another solution is improving public transport systems and reducing their cost. The key rationale behind it is that public transport not only operates smoothly through plans but also usse greener sources rather than fossil fuels. Moreover, low-cost public transportation would expand the access to be used by a large number of people, so traffic and pollution can be solved. Japan, a typical example, promotes cost-effective, reliable, general public transports, which not only improve its traffic systems but also emerge as one of the cleanest countries. Therefore, promotion to public vehicles may address both pollution and congestion.
Conclusion
In conclusion, a rise in petrol’s price is not the most sustainable way to address growing pollution and traffic jams. Instead, fostering education for individuals and the use of public transportation are more practical ways
