Introduction
Body
It is understandable why some advocate the idea of stopping the development of economy because of negative environmental consequences. One of those is the degradation of natural environment which is significantly vital for both humans and animals. The industrialization means a massive number of buildings and skyscrapers can be built for our accommodation needs, leading to some invasive behaviors such as deforestation. As a result, once natural vegetation , the shelter for animals can be disrupted and the air quality may be degraded due to the absence of trees which serve as air-conditionings. Moreover, this development may also contribute to caused by the pollution. Since water, air or land are contaminated and poisonous, citizens who live in such detrimental conditions can fall ill easily by constantly being exposed to polluted resources.+ Consequently, the overall health of individuals to be affected negatively, which forces more financial resources to be invested in by governments.
However, the halt of economic growth is not a practical solution to tackle this problem. Conversely, it is likely to compound the environmental issues of the country. Since the efforts of improving national economic conditions are stopped, other aspects are likely to be influenced. For example, when the investment in infrastructure and public transportation is no longer funded, it creates the ripple effect for the nation where emissions from factories and public vehicles are untreated instead of which directly affects the living standards of the mankind. As a result, this approach not only leads to financial stagnation but also citizens' conflicts and tension derived from the dissatisfaction. Thus, rather than economic advancement, government should make use of this growth to invest effectively in solving ecological and environmental challenges such as improving facilities or tailoring policies related to the preservation of natural world.
Conclusion
To summarize, although the halt of economic growth may seem reasonable at the first glance, it is insufficient effort to tackling environmental issues due to the fact that it may arise more social concerns and harm the nature. Hence, more practical solutions should be implemented to ensure the benefits for both humans and the environment.
