The chart illustrated the number of US households' annual income from 2007 to 2015. Overall, the number of US households' annual income ranged from 49999 to less than 25000, increased slightly from 2007 to 2011, and then decreased slightly in 2015. The figure for 75000 to 99999 barely changed. The figure for 100000 or more experienced a marginal decline followed by a significant increase. In 2007, the number of households earning less than $25,000 stood at approximately 25 million, which was slightly higher than the figures for the $25,000–$49,999 and $50,000–$74,999 brackets, at around 21 million and 19 million, respectively. By 2011, all three income groups experienced a minor growth of about 3 to 4 million households. In contrast, the wealthiest group ($100,000 or more) started at nearly 30 million in 2007, making it the most common income level at that time. After experiencing a marginal decline to roughly 27 million in 2011, this figure rebounded strongly and surged to a peak of well over 30 million households by 2015, maintaining its position as the highest category.
