The charts below show how many people were affected by different type of noise throughout day to day in urban and rural area in Europe . Overall, noise in both countries and cities mostly stem from traffic, followed by train, aircraft and industry Traffic noise in city was very ubiquitous, affected 64 and 48 million of residents respectively which also by far the highest number of individuals were affected by noise in both urban and rustic area. In countryside, the figure for traffic noise only around half as high at 34 and 24. Turning to noise from train from cities which 10 million individuals were affected at day and 8 million at night. In rural area, this number was almost equal to noise cause by train in cities (8 and 6 million) In contrast, aircraft and industry accounted for the least disturbance noise in both cities and rustic area with only 4 million people and 1 million people felt annoyed during the day and at night. In turn, just 2 million of people heard the aircraft during the day and with half as many aware of nighttime flight. In term for industry the data for the countryside was negligible while only 1 and 0.25 aware of noise in industry area during a day
