Environmental protection has become one of the most pressing global issues. Some people believe that ordinary people cannot do anything to protect the environment and that only the government or large companies can make a difference. While I agree that governments and corporations play a major role, I also believe that tackling environmental issues requires cooperation between the authorities and the public.

On the one hand, there are a number of reasons why some believe that environmental protection should mainly be the responsibility of the government and large companies. Firstly, political leaders can tackle macro-level issues by launching essential programmes to mitigate environmental degradation. In Vietnam, for example, the authorities encourage households to switch from petrol-powered cars to electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions. Secondly, the majority of waste is generated by businesses, so they should take responsibility for implementing environmentally friendly systems. Apple and Google, which are the world's largest companies, have committed to using 100% renewable electricity in their facilities and reducing carbon emissions throughout their operations. Therefore, the government and large companies play a crucial role in protecting the environment.On the other hand, people’s awareness has a significant impact on improving the environment. Millions of positive actions from members of society can contribute to mitigating environmental degradation. A prime example of this is the habit of using reusable bags or cloth bags, which results in protecting the ecosystem. In addition, choosing electric vehicles over petrol-powered cars can significantly reduces emissions. Consequently, individual accountability is not a drop in the ocean, but the very foundation of any successful environmental movement

In conclusion, by combining governmental and company policies with individual responsibility, environmental issues can be effectively addressed.
