The table illustrates the comparison of average retirement age of men and women in six countries within 2003. Overall, while the highest retired age of both males and females was Korea, this figure for France was the lowest rank. Additionally, men had to work longer than women in all six countries. Regarding three countries that recorded the highest average retirement age, Korean residents were the highest retired age, with men retiring at 68 years and 8 months, who worked longer 1.5 years than women, retiring 67 years and 2 months. Followed by that was Japanese, while men retired at 67 years and 4 months, which just compared more than half of a year with Japanese women, at 66 years and 9 months. Moreover, the figure for the retired age of both male and female in the US documented at 65 years and 6 months, 64 years and 2 months respectively. Turning to the last three countries, France was the country having lowest retirement age, which recorded the same trend as Japan, representing a gap of 10 years to the mentioned figure for Japanese residents. Furthermore, the retirement age of Italian men was 58 years and 2 months; however, women did less a-year-work than men, at just 57 years and 3 months. Finally, Australia witnessed the most narrow gap between males and females, which was 64 years and 1 months of Australian men, 63 years and 5 months of women.
