The given bar chart compares the figures for citizens at 5 different age ranges coming to 3 music events in 2006 in Australia. Overall, it is obvious that classical music was almost the least preferable type among people in Australia. It is also noticeable that people at the three youngest age brackets were the most attracted to popular music and this interest decreased as they were older while the older people favored operas more. Regarding the three first age groups sharing the similarly high preference for popular music events, there were 38% of citizens aged 15-24 participating, which was also the highest figure in the chart. This is followed by the percentages of attendance of people in the 25-34 and 35-44 age groups, at 27% and 33% respectively. Individuals in the age range of 35-44 joining the opera accounted for around 25%, which was almost double the respective figures for the 15-24 and 25-34. Meanwhile, only 8-11% of people at these age brackets attended the classical music events. Turning to the latter age groups, the proportions of people taking part in opera events stayed at the same level, at 15% for each. Approximately 10% of 45-to-54-year-old citizens in Australia joined classical music events, which was slightly higher than that of over 55-year-old ones, at 8%. Simultaneously, Popular music attracted 13% of people aged 45-54 but only 5% of those in the oldest age group, also the smallest figure in the chart.
