The bar chart illustrates the division of houseworks, in minutes per person, of British males and females on each day. Overall, there are two household tasks, including gardening, petcare and maintenance odd jobs, which are often completed by men rather than women; whereas women spend more time per day doing the remaining houseworks. In terms of gardening, pet care and maintenance odd jobs, the number of minutes which males spend for these works is higher than that of females. Men usually engage in the former and the latter activities for 49.5 and 26 minutes, while there are over 20 and 10 minutes which women spend doing these houseworks per day, respectively. Regarding other household tasks, females spend more time doing those tasks on each day than the other gender. Women often cook, bake, and wash up in over 70 minutes, surpassing other houseworks in a day; while men use only 30 minutes on such tasks. Females also at least double exceed men in cleaning, house typing, and caring of their children, which account for 58 and 45 minutes respectively. Finally, men spend a little time doing housework related to clothes, washing, ironing, and sewing, for only 2 minutes; whereas women spend 25 minutes on this work, which is as comparable as time working maintenance odd jobs of men.
