Some cities are witnessing the prioritization of cars over bicycles, while others record more people choosing to ride bicycles instead of cars. ＋In this essay, I will explain both phenomena before arguing that the latter change can bring about more benefits.

The main reason for people choosing cars is their superior convenience. Unlike bicycles, which take a lot of effort to cycle, cars allow people to travel long distances with minimal physical effort while providing shelter from the sun and rain. Because of the comfortable journeys cars can offer, many tend to opt to drive a car rather than cycling. By contrast, the cost of owning a bicycle, including purchase, maintanence, and repair costs, is far lower than that of owning a car. This affordability encourages many people to choose bicycles as an cheaper alternative to cars.＋ From my perspective, the prioritization of cycling has more beneficial influences on the environment and human health. First, while the convenience of cars is more likely to foster a sedentary lifestyle, riding a bike requires cyclists to be more physically active. The increase in physical activity helps to build a strong immune system, improve cardiovascular health, and reduce the risk of backache and obesity. Moreover, bicycles are often regarded as a greener means of transport. Whereas cars release a high amount of exhaust which contaminates the air, bicycles do not generate any toxic emissions at all. Cylcing to school, work, or local markets would reduce a significant volume of exhaust fumes, contributing to environmental protection, especially pollution reduction.

In conclusion, cars are chosen for their convenience, and bicycles for their affordability. More importantly, I believe cycling priority is a more positive development, particularly for the environment and human health.
