Climate change has become a global challenge. However, instead of preventing it, some people argue that we need adapt to it. I believe that even though adapting to climate change brings some advantages such as financial benefits and technological innovation, the main causes still should be tackle to ensure long-term effects.

On the one hand, finding methods to live with climate change is more cost-effective and supports technological advancement. The temporary solutions literally cost less than tackling comprehensively the vital causes. For example, when global temperature rises in summer, people would choose to install air conditioning rather than allocating time and money planting more trees. It would be more obvious when concerning the authority role. Preventing industrial activities damaging the environment would lead to negative economical impacts, which hinders the governments from developing eco-friendly alternatives that demand huge investment. Additionally, finding adaptive solutions unintentionally fosters scientific breakthrough. For instance, the system to prevent heavy flood in coastal area of the Netherlands is not only a temporary solution but also make significant contribution to the future technique.

On the other hand, despite visible benefits, coexisting with climate change involves serious impacts on living habitats and threatens the survival of human and ecosystems in the long run. Scientists can come up with solutions to temporarily minimize the threat of rising sea level. However, if the ice continued to melt and people did not have practical strategies to reduce planet temperature, there would be nothing to ensure that we could still find another way to deal with this problem. Moreover, we should not put the existence of our descendants at stake by our present behaviours. The sooner global residents take actions to deal with the root causes such as reducing carbon emission and switching to green choices, the faster climate change would be effectively tackled. As a result, environment impacts would not be accumulated and advanced alternatives would ensure long-term advantages for human.

In conclusion, preventing climate change by practical actions tackling the root causes should be firstly prioritized although adaptation can provide temporary benefits. By global efforts, applying systematic strategies to minimize climate change is absolutely possible.
