The diagrams illustrates the process of construction a modern lanfill for household waste. Overall, the installation has three main stages, which begins with construction step and ends with closure stage. During the construction, a man-maded hole was exavated in a natural rock area. After that, the hole was covered by a clay layers, then synthetic lining before a series of drainage pipes is put in the bottom of that hole. The next stage is that trucks deposited household waste on the prepared hole. As the accumulation, the waste liquid inside flows downwards. The final stage of the construction is that the whole hole was covered again by a clay layer while a vertical pipe was installed to help gases escape safely.
