In this day and age, the number of students taking a gap year for travelling or working for a year before starting university gradually blooms over time. It is a common observation that taking a gap year brings both pros and cons due to various aspects. From my perspective, I entirely believe that the advantages of taking a break or working after graduating from high school far outweigh the potential drawbacks to this trend.

It is a fact that taking a gap year for travelling or working part-time for a year provides students several advantages. To begin with, travelling after graduating from high school may take the stress out due to crucial university admission. Additionally, students are able to enhance their self-awareness and renew energy after intense study hours. For instance, particularly in America, parents allow their students to travel wherever they love, creating conditions for self-improvement. Moreover, students choosing to work part-time for a year regularly have more opportunities in their studying life and working too. To illustrate, part-time workers will create a source of income, supporting to pay the school fee. Furthermore, it also brings students a large quantity of experience at work by communicating fluently so they are capable of being confident speaking in public, especially at university and school events. As a result, taking a gap year provides students distinct skillfulness and creativity for their whole lives.

Nevertheless, there are various consequences of taking a gap year before university, one of the main negative ones is spurned by junior students. The junior students do not respect us because they suppose that we failed a subject more than once and eventually show their disdain. They use verbal bullying to attack, so we gradually become unconfident, feel regretful and are able to give up. It affects our spirit, academic performance and particularly ourselves. For instance, in Vietnam, being competitive and showing disdain to individuals, especially among students, characterizes negative formation, toxic others by eyesights, actions, and words.＋

In conclusion, taking a gap year to travel or work for a year brings more advantages than negative ones. Students who prepare for university should experience journeys or work part-time in order to enhance communication, supporting directly studying life. However, students should strongly believe that taking a gap year is yourselves decision, you perform it as yourself and increase more opportunities.
