The three pie charts illustrate how age groups of the users are interested in three social media platforms including Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter in Australia in 2011. Overall, the 65+ had the lowest percentage of the users on both three social media platforms. By contrast, the figure for the 18-34 was the greatest in Facebook and Youtube, while the proportion for the 35-49 was highest in Twitter. Regarding Facebook, the 18-34 accounted for the highest share at 29%, followed by the 35-49 with 28%. The 10-17 ranked third with 19%, which was 5% higher than the figure for the 50-64. The lowest share belonged to the 65+, at only 10%. Concerning Youtube, these categories had the similar pattern: with 30%, the 18-34 emerged as the leading category, followed by the 35-49%, with 26%. Far below were the 10-17 and the 50-64, at 20% and 15%, respectively. Finally, the lowest figure for Youtube was the 65+, stood at 9%. In terms of Twitter, a different pattern can be observed. The 35-49 accounted for the highest figure at 40%, exceeding the figure for the 18-34 by 11%. The 10-17 ranked third with 18%, while the 50-64 and the 65+ represented the smallest proportion at 9% and 4%, respectively.
