Nowadays, some families believe that encouraging children to compete with each other is necessary for their development. Meanwhile, another group considers cooperation as a better way for children's development process instead of competition. These opinions are based on the advantages that both approaches can bring.＋

In the first opinion, competition is actually more beneficial than people often think. When children have a competitive mindset, it brings them motivation, determination, and also an interest in doing their work to compete with their friends or siblings. These psychological factors are necessary for them, especially in the learning process, which often requires a lot of determination and discipline over a long period. Therefore, competition can be a source of motivation that helps children develop themselves throughout their journey to adulthood.＋

On the other hand, cooperation can be a big advantage in their development process. If children cooperate with their friends or siblings, it will bring them many benefits. The major benefit is that children can help each other whenever they face difficult problems, like challenging homework. This benefit is very essential because they can encounter problems at any time in their learning or working process. If they cannot solve a problem, it can have a negative impact on their development. Therefore, it is better to have companions to solve problems together instead of being alone. Furthermore, friends can also help children whenever they have emotional problems; there are some issues that children cannot confide in their parents. Hence, friends also play an important role in balancing children's emotions, which is necessary for the maturation process.＋

＋In my view, both opinions are partly correct. It is better if we combine both approaches. Children should be encouraged not only to compete but also to cooperate with each other. This will provide them with motivation, determination, and discipline to follow their development. Furthermore, if they encounter any problems, they will also have their companions to overcome difficult periods together.
