Nowadays, with the increase in vehicles, traffic jams are rising dramatically. To deal with this situation, some individuals suggest that governments should build more train and subway lines while others think roads should be built more and wider.＋

It could be seen that traffic congestion appears more dense, especially in big cities. The reason is because the rising up of the population leads to the increase of transportations such as cars, motorcycles, and buses. The option which is about building more and wider roads can have the effect of reducing traffic jams. With more spaces and roads for vehicles, it decreases the traffic congestion but will not be a good option for a long period of time because the population will increase in the future, the number of transportations will grow more and more.

On the other hand, trains and subways are some common transportations which are used frequently, and the suggestion about building train and subway lines could solve the problem more in a long period. Trains and subways can carry a large number of people, which can help to reduce the number of personal vehicles and alleviate traffic congestion. In some countries such as China, Japan and the US, they have dense train and subway track systems that help reducing traffic jams and air population.＋

In conclusion, although both suggestions bring results, in my opinion, building more train and subway lines can bring more long-term effect in future if the population increases and is less costly than the other option in reducing traffic congestion.
