The bar chart compares the unit sales of tickets between two age cohorts, specifically aged 10-19 and 20-29, at the August Cinema in 2020. Overall, children and teenagers from 10-19 years old were most attracted to animated movies, while young adults aged 20-29 favoured comedy. Additionally, the older age bracket generated higher sales across most genres, except for animation and science fiction which were chosen more by the younger age group. Regarding the group aged 10-19, the most popular genres of tickets were animation and science fiction, each of which accounted for around 130,000 tickets, with around 50,000 higher than that of action. Meanwhile, the lowest number of tickets sold was romance, at nearly 20,000 tickets, 10,000 lower than that of comedy. As for cohort aged 20-29, the most prevalent genres was comedy, with approximately 160,000 tickets, which was the highest figure of the graph. There was recorded a slight decrease in the number of tickets was sold from romance, science fiction and action, with at nearly 120,000, 100,000 and 90,000 tickets, respectively. Meanwhile, the modest number of tickets was represented at animation with just 50,000 tickets.
