The bar chart illustrates how many trips were made by female and male for different purposes in a certain European country in 2007. Overall, men dominated motivations for day trip, sports/entertainment and traveling to work, while women were attracted for visiting friends and shopping motivations. Notably, the largest difference was exhibited in gender in traveling to work purpose, with the number of trips made by men outnumbered their women counterparts. Regarding the purposes of the trips, men made more journeys than women in most categories. The number of trips made by men for traveling to work took the lead all the categories, at roughly 330 trips, compared to around 215 trips of their male counterparts. Day trip and sports/entertainment followed a similar pattern, albeit at a significant narrow disparity, with the number of trips in sports/ entertainment evenly distributed in gender, hovering around 135 trips. However, the number of trips made by men, at approximately 30 trips, was almost doubled that of women in day trip, despite the lowest number of trips all the categories. As for the remaining categories, shopping was the most dominant motivation for women made trips, at approximately 280 trips, which was 90 trips higher than the figure for men. There was a fairly even distribution in visiting friends in gender, with the number of trips made by male and female, at 190 trips and 205 trips, respectively.
