The bar chart illustrates the percentage of tertiary education qualifications held by male and female counterparts within five different countries around the year 2001. In 2001, the percentage of tertiary education qualifications varied across the five countries, with males holding higher percentages in Japan, Switzerland, and Britain, while females held higher percentages in the United States and Germany. However, within five of those territories, Switzerland and Germany had the highest rate of university degree holders with a total of a significant majority. With the highest percentage led by Switzerland and Germany, the country with the lowest rate of degree holders was found in to Japan with only fifty-five percent where males being thirty percent and females is twenty-five, followed closely by Britain with sixty-five percent with males being thirty-five percent and females is thirty. Meanwhile, the United States stood in the middle with the total of seventy-five percent with males being thirty-five percent and females being forty. In general, although females were not outperformed by males in some countries, men generally had the upper hand in the year of 2001.
