The bar chart illustrates the percentage of tertiary education qualifications held by male and female counterparts within five different countries around the year 2001. In 2001, the proportion of university graduates varied across the five countries, with males holding higher percentages in Japan, Switzerland, and Britain, while females held higher percentages in the United States and Germany. However, out of these five territories, Switzerland and Germany had the highest rate of university degree holders with dominant figures. With the highest percentage led by Switzerland and Germany, the country with the lowest rate of degree holders was found in Japan with only fifty-five percent where males accounted for thirty percent and females were twenty-five, followed closely by Britain with sixty-five percent with males at thirty-five percent and females were thirty. Meanwhile, the United States stood in the middle with the total of seventy-five percent with males being thirty-five percent and females being forty. In general, although females were not outperformed by males in some countries, men generally held a higher proportion in the year of 2001.
