It is sometimes believed that the financial allocated for space exploration is unjustified, while these funds could be better spent elsewhere. While there may be certain arguments against this suggestion, I still wholeheartedly agree with it for several reasons.

Opponents of this view may have several arguments. They may well argue that technologies developed for space missions can become immensely useful on a regular basis, such as GPS systems, satellite communications and solar energy, all of which were first invented to serve the purpose of space research. Now, they are broadly used in broadcasting television network programmes or the navigation of Google Maps. Additionally, exploring other planets serves as a proactive measure to safeguard humanity’s long-standing survival. With mounting threats such as overpopulation, resource depletion or climate change, Earth’s stability is somewhat uncertain. Hence, by advancing space exploration and life-support technologies, we can well-prepare for the risks of extinction.

Nevertheless, I still agree that such vast sums of money should instead be invested in addressing other pressing global issues for several reasons. Chief among these is poverty alleviation progams. In fact, an alarming proportion of people from different parts of the world are struggling to meet the fundamental needs, such as food and fresh water, which can be tackled by channeling budgets towards these charitable programs.＋ The second approach is investing in environmental restoration, such as renewable energy technologies and sustainable agriculture. This can assist in mitigating climate change issues and preserving natural habitats, thereby leading to a substantial decline in existential risks and chances of having a stable life.＋

＋In conclusion, it is understandable why some may oppose the idea that it would be beneficial to spend this money on more urgent concerns, rather than space exploration. However, I still strongly agree with this suggestion given the aforementioned justifications.
