The two maps compare the layout of an Australian Zoo in 1960 and its present arrangement Overall, the zoo has undergone a substantial modernization and arrangement, with the most striking developments are the construction of two new entrances and the introduction of both a ferry service and a cable car system In 1960, a harbour was constructed in the north-east side of the map, while an African animals area was located on the northwest and an Australia animals region was situated in the west part of the zoo, to the south of the Africa animals area. Additionally, three picnic areas were placed on the eastern side, with a seal show area positioned in the north-east of the zoo, to the north of the picnic areas. In the middle of the map, a birds area was built in the north-center, while a chimpanzees region was placed in the south-center of the zoo. Finally, a gift shop was constructed at the middle-bottom of the map. In the present, the harbour has been relocated to the north-west corner of the map, making way for a new ferry service and an entrance. Furthermore, the Australian animals area and the picnic areas still remain untouched, while the African animals region has been moved to the center of the map, giving way for the construction of a new wild animals area. Moreover, another new entrance has been constructed in the south-west corner of the zoo, whereas the gift shop has been redesigned, yet still being situated in the original position. In addition, the chimpanzees region has been completely cleared and the seal show area has been reposition to the center, making way for a new cable car system being constructed in the center-east, connecting the gift shop to the picnic areas
