To begin, there are two reasons why I support this trend. Firstly, high sugar consumption increases the incidence of serious diseases caused by dietary habits such as obesity and diabetes, thereby increasing treatment costs for the government. Therefore, raising prices to deter consumers from using these products is one of the quickest ways to change habits. For instance, when the price of sugary drinks increases, consumers will be more cautious and tend to switch to cheaper and healthier options such as water. Furthermore, limiting sugar intake is crucial for maintaining optimal physical condition and managing body weight effectively. As a result, this not only helps reduce the burden on the healthcare system but also helps change unhealthy eating habits for people.

In addition, another aspect can also deeply contribute to my opinion. The additional funds generated from this price increase can be strategically reinvested in society to further promote public health. Specifically, these funds could be allocated to implement nutritional education programs in schools. This helps students develop a better awareness of their own health as well as the health of those around them from a young age. Moreover, this accumulated budget could also be allocated to subsidize the cost of fresh produce, making healthy foods more affordable. By doing so, this policy can contribute to better public health.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that raising the prices of manufactured food and drinks containing high levels of sugar is a necessary and effective policy. It not only discourages people from making unhealthy dietary choices through immediate financial pressure but also provides governments with valuable resources to invest in the long-term well-being of the population.
