The bar charts illustrate how long do people at different age groups spend on average per day to do two common leisure activities in New Zealand. Overall, the figure for the time people at 5 age groups spend on reading gradually increased according to the number of age was measured in minutes per day, whereas that of for who 15-24 years old is the highest among the other groups choosing to listen to music as a pleasure. People who aged from 15 to 24 was recorded the lowest time allocated to reading, at 20 minutes a day. The amount of time spent on this activity keep climbing throughout the 25-34 and 35-44 category, at approximately 35 and 45 minutes a day respectively, the elder groups tend to read more occasionally. This can be seen in the figure of people at 45-54 years old, roughly 50 minutes, especially with the elderly in the group of 55 years old or above, with its figure being 70 minutes per day. Regarding the 15-24 age group in terms of listening to music, 80 minutes were spent on average, which recorded the greatest amount of time listening to music. The 25-34 and 45-54 groups experienced a similar pattern, at 60 minutes per day. That of people at the age of 55 and over is dramatically high, at nearly 80 minutes. However, people aging from 35 to 44 remain the same figure compared with reading activity, at about 45 minutes.
