Introduction

In this day and age, some individuals argue that the only method to stop global poverty and hunger is economic development, while other people believe that this negatively affects the eco-system and must stop. This essay will analyse both viewpoints and provide my own perspective.

Body

Initially, financial development creates several advantages. Firstly, this way can support people to make money. The reason for this is creating more job opportunities for unemployment; therefore, the poor would earn money which helps them purchase necessary things in their life such as food and clothes. Not only does this tendency reduce the poverty rate but also make a large workforce. Moreover, with a huge budget, the government could invest in the agriculture industry to provide daily food with affordable prices. Thus, people would consume safer, fresher and cheaper vegetables, meat and fruits, which benefits their overall well-being, because they do not have to buy imported food from other countries. On the other hand, I believe that economic growth is attached with massive disadvantages. Most noticeably, this leads to environmental degradation. With the increase in the number of factories, buildings and vehicles on the road, people have to breathe a huge amount of exhausted fumes and live in a noisy atmosphere. Additionally, the greenhouse effect would make the cities hotter over time, and untreated waste from factories would create a toxic living environment with unsafe water resources and poor air quality. Moreover, I think financial growth has to stop because of the disappearance of natural habitats for wild animals. In developing countries, the government removes forests to improve infrastructure such as building houses, shopping centres or factories. Hence, this deforestation results in the climb in the number of red book animals. For example, in Viet Nam, the government burned half of Cuc Phuong national forest in Ninh Binh to build new stadiums and universities, and unfortunately, the figure of rainbow chicken significantly plummeted by 90% because they can not find food and nest.

Conclusion

In conclusion, while some people believe that the financial development would make many plus points, I strongly think that this will be banned to protect the environment. In the years to come, I hope governments around the world should create more regulations to make positive impacts on the eco-system.
