The supplied illustration compares the proportion of males, aged 16-25, participation in sports with those preferring watching. In brief, the preference of watching were remarkably higher than taking part in, except for fishing. Noticeably, the most substantial disparity could be seen in football. Regarding three most watched sports, the metric for watching football, horse riding and racing shared the highest proportion, accounting for about 45%. While there was a considerably gap in the former figure, with proportion of participating males made up only 10%, the disparity in the latter figure was slightly narrower, with around 18% for participation. Meanwhile, in comparison to the percentage of watching basketball, which stood at nearly 38%, the figure for playing this kind of sport was lower at approximately 25%. Turning to the remaining sports, the proportion of males watching rugby and badminton shared similar level at around 30%, which was around 10% and 5% higher than the corresponding figures for participation in those fields, in that order. Noticeably, fishing was the only sports which its proportion of playing far exceed the metric for watching, making up 50% and approximately 15%, respectively.
