Therefore, they are likely to use mixed traffic lanes with these means of transport, posing potential accidents, especially during rush hours, forcing them to seek other alternatives to commute faster and safely. In addition, another main driver is the long distance. Because of the expansion of urbanization, roads have been widened and made more complex, resulting in a group of people who work or study far from their houses finding it difficult to commute. As a result, they have to use other vehicles to ensure they can arrive on time. For example, in Hanoi, a large number of vehicles are used for traveling during peak times that increase cyclists’ commuting time. Consequently, both factors contribute to the change in using types of transport to move.

However, there are some effective measures that should be implemented to address the phenomenon. Firstly, the governments should invest more funding in building more bike lanes to encourage residents to use bicycles. By introducing such infrastructure, cyclists may feel safer and more confident to commute, and it also prevents traffic accidents. Secondly, increasing taxes on fuel is also a practical way. As fuel becomes more expensive, many people may choose bicycles as a cheaper mean of transport, reducing the use of motorbikes or cars. For instance, in the Netherlands, many people choose bicycles as their primary types of transport because cycling is both economical and environmentally friendly, contributing to mitigating the pollution from car emissions.＋
