Word count: 335

Introduction

In today’s rapidly changing world, advertisements have become an integral part of modern life, appearing on television, social media and even public transport. While some people believe that advertisements are merely entertaining or irritating and therefore have little impact on consumers' purchasing decisions. While I think that some people are not easy affected by advertisements, I acknowledge that advertisement still have a strong influence on many shoppers.

Body

On the one hand, it is true that many people are not persuaded by advertisements. One significant reason is that people already know what they want. Before making a purchase, they already make a shopping list in order to buy essential items first, which avoid impulse purchases. For example, older generations often prepare a shopping list for planned iteams before going to the supermarket since this list helps them focus on necessities. Another major reason is that shoppers often focus on feedback and recommendations of products. Instead of being attracted to online advertising, people often read costumers’s reviews or recommendations from their family and friends before making a decision to purchase any new products.

On the other hand, I acknowledge that advertisements still influence consumer behavior. First and foremost, advertisements attract many people by promoting celebrity endorsement. By appointing celebrities and influencers as brand’s ambassadors, shopkeppers make consumers tend to purchase these products because of their favourite celebrities. For example, high-end brands such as Chanel, Dior and Louis Vuitton often appoint international football superstars or famous artists as their brand’s ambassadors such as Cristiano Ronaldo or Jennie Kim so that this strategy can attract and gain many customers’ trust. In addition, advertisements offer discounts or promotions to increase sales. Sallers often create apealing strategies with eye-catching designs and memorable slogans, which leave a lasting impression on customers.

Conclusion

In conclusion, while I think that some people are not influenced by advertising strategies because of the clear purchasing intention and others’ feedback, I acknowledge that many people still are attracted to advertisements due to the celebrities endorsement and promotional discounts.
