＋Many people harbour the view that elite athletes can successfully earn a much larger wage than other crucial professions is justified while others hold the opposite notion. ＋In this essay, I will discuss the merits of both standpoints before giving my own opinion.

On the one hand, the great difference in salary between sports professionals and other careers is understandable due to two main reasons. Firstly, famous athletes have a significant public impact, especially in advertisements. In other words, the appearance of popular sports stars in product-advertising can bolster the income of commercial companies as they capture the attention of many customers, specifically their supporters. Therefore, it leads to a symbolic relationship between athletes and companies, creating an offering of great deal of money for the sports professions. In addition, although elite athletes also have to sacrifice a lot, they only have a short career span. It means that those mentioned above usually have the ability to earn high wages in a specific time of their life, and in most cases, in their prime era. Thus, their large incomes are often enough for them to survive the rest of their lives.＋On the other hand, it could be unjustified for other professions who dedicate their lives to human life or future innovation. To illustrate, doctors play an indispensable role in human lives, however, many of them have to suffer with living expenses due to the low incomes. As a result, those specialists might have to give up their careers for another high-paid job, leading to a reduction in population of many fields. Moreover, the great disparity in income might negatively affect young people’s goals. It means that instead of focusing on more socially valuable careers, teenagers will dream of being famous and wealthy in sports. Consequently, the number of educational and life-saving workers might be reduced, while the unemployment rate might increase in the future.＋

In conclusion, although it might be reasonable for athletes to earn such high wages, I still believe that it would be unfair for other important professionals due to their crucial role, together with the negative effect on young generations.
