In today's globalised world, private corporations instead of governments fund and carry out the majority of scientific research. Although there are benefits, I believe this investment brings more disadvantages than advantages.

Introduction
Body
Admittedly, this trend has some practical advantages. Within government bodies, research decisions must go through many layers of approval such as ministers, committees, and parliament, making the process prolonged for many months. In contrast, private companies need only their CEO's and board's decision, making this process flexible and rapid. Consequently, scientific innovation takes place more quickly, and new products reach users far sooner. Furthermore, research conducted in universities, typically funded by governments, is often theoretical in nature and difficult to translate into real-world applications. Unlike governments, private companies mainly conduct research to make profits, so they focus on finding practical solutions to customers' problems. As a result, the public benefit from numerous products that significant improve quality of life such as electric cars, vaccines, smartphones.
However, I believe that the disadvantages are far greater, notably in terms of fairness and long-term scientific progress. Private companies make research decisions based on profitability, overlooking important problems that lack commercial appeal. As a result, rare diseases and tropical illnesses that affect the poor are largely neglected, because the markets are small. This creates severe inequality. Science serves the wealthy rather than humanity as a whole. When research reveals that a product may be harmful, private companies may have an incentive to hide or delay publishing the results in order to protect their profits. For example, tobacco companies were criticised for failing to disclose the health risks of smoking for many years. As a result, many consumers continued using these products without fully understanding the potential dangers.
Conclusion
In conclusion, although the current model has some advantages, I still believe that the disadvantages outweigh because it creates inequality and slows fundamental scientific progress.
