However, this solution can only resolve traffic congestion temporarily because when roads are expanded, drivers will prefer to drive on these roads, thereby triggering traffic congestion again.

In contrast, unlike expanding road networks, improving public transportation may tackle this problem more effectively in long-term traffic development. The greatest advantage of this solution lies in its ability to reduce a large number of private cars, which are the main reason for traffic congestion. By enhancing the comfort, reliability, and convenience of public transport, people are more willing to use public transportation instead of private vehicles, as it properly saves people's daily funds and meets passengers' needs.
