Introduction
Body
There are manifold reasons why recycling rates still remain low. First and foremost, people do not understand the importance of recycling waste. In fact, some people, who do not have opportunities to learn or gain deeper knowledge about the environment, always throw different types of rubbish into the ordinary bins. This, therefore, leads to the decrease in the rate of recycling because citizens do not know that paper, glass or cans can be recycled. To tackle this issue, the government should raise public awareness of recycling through social media or through public events. Specifically, they should generate more advertisements on some billboards in the city centre, which are aligned with environmental issues and the importance of recycling to reduce these issues. Moreover, through environmental organizations like: clean-up voluntary, the public can significantly improve their understanding about environments.
Another reason is that there are not enough facilities for recycling in some rural areas. As a matter of fact, the government tends to pay more attention to urban areas instead of rural ones. As a result, rural residents find recycling inconvenient due to the lack of recycling amenities like recycling bins, or collection centres. Solving this problem involves investing in better recycling infrastructure. To be more specific, the government should install more recycling bins in rural areas, especially some recreational spaces, where people use different kinds of products there. Additionally, providing regular collection services or building more collection centres can also increase the rates of recycling.
Conclusion
+In conclusion, the recycling rates remain low because of the lack of knowledge and the sufficient facilities. Therefore, this can be solved by raising public awareness about recycling and improving recycling infrastructures.
