The bar chart illustrates the proportion of females aged 16 to 25 in a specific country who participated in and watched six different sports, namely tennis, gymnastics, basketball, badminton, golf and horse riding in the year 2000. Overall, it can be seen that females mostly preferred watching tennis rather than other sports, whereas basketball had the highest rate of participating in sports. Conversely, females showed the least interest in horse riding, thus this category recorded the lowest figure for joining in sports. Similarly, badminton only attracted a small group of females to watch. Regarding watching sport in females, tennis was the most popular sports during the year with the largest percentage of viewers at 60%, followed by basketball with around 55% of people who watched sports. The figure for gymnastics was accounted for 20% of viewers and doubled the figure for golf (10%). Additionally, badminton and horse riding had the lowest figure for proportion of female viewers at only nearly 5% and 6%, respectively. In terms of participation, basketball dominanted the ranking with a half of people played sports were females. The second ranking was golf and tennis with the same data at exactly 30%. Badminton was accounted for approximately 11%, which was the third of ranking, followed by gymnastics figures at under 10%. The final was horse riding which had the lowest data just nearly 4%.
