Some people assume that fast food, processed food and unhealthy drinks which have been scientifically proven to be bad for people’s health should not be sold in shops. From my perspective, although unhealthy food and drink has many drawbacks, these products should be limited rather than banned.

On the one hand, despite their many disadvantages, these unhealthy products can still provide sufficient nutrients and energy for consumers. For example, chocolate is considered to be unhealthy because it contains a large amount of sugar which can contribute to weight gain and increase the risk of tooth decay if consumers eat too much. However, chocolate is an important food when people are tired, because just one chocolate bar can provide a quick source of energy. Moreover, dark chocolate contains nutrients that may benefit heart health if consumed in moderation.＋On the other hand, all food is harmful if excessively consumed, so banning unhealthy food is impractical. Rather than banning unhealthy food and drinks, governments should introduce new laws such as imposing taxes on processed foods, which would make consumers consider carefully before deciding to purchase. Moreover, governments should also publicize scientific evidence illustrating the harmful effects of unhealthy food to raise public awareness and encourage healthier consumption habits.

＋As a result, while I acknowledge that unhealthy food and drink has many drawbacks, I firmly believe that these foods are still an important food if consumed enough. Moreover, instead of banning unhealthy food, governments should implement stringent regulations and educate the public about the harmful effects of unhealthy food.
