A segment of population asserts that searching for extraterrestrial life is indispensable, an opposing view contends such research squanders national resources. While both perspectives possess valid arguements, I firmly believe astronomical explorations largely contribute to scientific progress.

On the one hand, a compelling argument can be made that space research consumes enormous financial resources which is unnecessary. Firstly, it is inevitable that space missions require substantial investments, therefore, a significant amount of resources needs to be diverted from the other essential areas such as healthcare and education. Consequently, such investments are impractical as a goverment channels resources into scientific major instead of prioritizing urgent societal issues. Take India as a prime example, a considerable number of space explorations are recorded in this country, while their residents are struggling with poverty every day.

On the other hand, it is equally understandable why many consider missions beyond Earth to have profound advantages for human-beings. To be more specific, astronomical explorations aim for gathering scientific evidence, enabling humans to expand their understanding about whether there are any potential conditions and resources outside the space. As a result, numerous of technological breakthroughs are explored, thereby generating long-term benefits to humans' quality of life. For instance, the vast majority of scientific knowledge is applied in practical applications such as GPS and satellites.＋

To conclude, while acknowledging the significant amount of resources required for space explorations. ＋I maintain that its advantages profoundly outweigh its disadvantages. However, national budgets and social problems should be considered thoroughly before making any investments.
